The Almost Home Benefit Concert with The Western Swing Authority

Almost Home is proud to announce a spectacular night of music in support of families with seriously ill children. Headlining this year’s event is the award-winning The Western Swing Authority (WSA), one of Canada’s most celebrated roots and swing ensembles. Known for their tight musicianship, irresistible energy, and vintage-meets-modern sound, The Western Swing Authority blends western swing, jazz, country, and big-band influences into a style uniquely their own. Over their remarkable 16-year career, WSA has experienced many highlights including performing a private party for Bob Doyle and Garth Brooks, being nominated for the Canadian Country Music Association Group of the Year, and accepting several Country Music Association of Ontario awards. WSA has a reputation for bringing audiences to their feet, and they promise an unforgettable performance for an important cause.

Opening the night is Savannah Shea, a Kingston based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, visual artist and creator. In 2025, Shea won “Song of the Year’ at the Folk Music Ontario Awards for her song “Best Remembered”. She is a prolific writer and has released over 40 songs in the last 3 years, including a triple album project called “A Living Dream”.

Shea performs in an acoustic/electric original music duo with her long-time musical crush, and now life partner Logan Brown.

Logan Brown’s guitar stylings are inspired by a mix of blues, jam bands and acoustic virtuosos. Together the duo draw on inspirations from Bruce Cockburn to Dave Matthews from Lianne La Havas to Joey Landreth.

All proceeds from the Almost Home Benefit Concert support Almost Home, a local organization providing affordable, welcoming accommodations for families whose children are receiving medical care in Kingston. The event brings the community together to lift spirits, celebrate local talent, and raise essential funds for families when they need it most.
